I haven't seen that kind of religious zealotry outside of Abrahamism.
It was amusing to learn how, during the Third Punic War, Romans used an evocatio, a call to the Phoenician gods inviting them to leave Carthage and go be honoured in Rome instead before the city was destroyed once and for all.
Meanwhile, if unlike pagan religions which are regional, Christianity is supposed to be a world religion(?), why are there so many denominations? I once read there are like 40,000 denominations worldwide.
And these differences seem not just theological in nature, but also political. Like how during the 30 Years War, Catholic France allied itself with Muslims (Ottomans) against Catholic Habsburgs.
Or how Protestant Brits and Catholic French allied with Muslims (Ottomans again) against Eastern Orthodox Russia in the Crimean War.
Nigga, just figure out what
wanted and make a single church already. :pepe_eyeballs:
