@TrevorGoodchild @SpaceGhost_ @jb what makes me the most frustrated is that we let idiots burn public trust in medicine which is tremendously difficult to earn.

@TrevorGoodchild @SpaceGhost_ @jb like we were able to identify this as a problem because it's not hard to piece the puzzle together; the FDA had the very conservative rules specifically because they understood that public trust was a valuable good, and then they went and rammed a new technology through after fudging results.

Many people don't realize that the bar for medical education is quite low and has been for some time. Take the Pearlman medical school at UPENN. They recently switched to a pass/fail grading system. Additionally, UPENN actively looks for students who are conformists. On student recommendations, if they don't see something along the lines of "rigorously follows authority's rules" that student is not accepted into med school or residence.

My wife worked in a doctor’s office in that decade and she saw first hand the incestuous relationship between drug reps and doctors
I can only assume it is much much worse now

Pharma reps destroyed things for patients. from vacations packages for doctors and staff. luncheons, and a lot of wining and dining to buy ( prescriptions) poison for healthy patients.
