This is observably true. Since 2015 it is observed, that asylum seekers struggling with weather conditions and temperatures the further they go from the equator. Here in the UK most of them prefer the southern part and only the boldest ones go all the way to Scotland. There's also a financial incentive to prefer London, but we also know from reports, that the winter is really hard for them.
@shortstories History... Canada was and technically still is a British colony (Just look at their currency) and the British had this habit of taking the finest of Indians and bringing them back to the UK or other colonies they owned. And for the actualy question of "Do they like to live there?". Try and ask a Canadian Indian. Unlikely you'll get one here, but who knows.
