@thefinn There's a sociological theory that you need to overcorrect to get any results. Want no more than a 10% illegitimacy rate? You need the most severe puritanical sexual regulation, with savage punishments for defectors (think stakes, racks, drawing and quartering).

But for the individual it makes no sense. There is a lot of ruin in a person. Elon Musk's endless fornication hasn't done him any harm, in fact from an evolutionary perspective it has increased his domination of the light cone.

If prosperity makes people evil and poverty makes people evil maybe your problem is with people and you should accept things you cannot change.

@blockbot Perhaps I could shed some light on why a Jewish old man, Richard Stallman, decided to block me out of the blue.

One month ago (10 June 2026) he kvetched about the use of plural pronouns (They/Them) creating a chaotic situation in a US prison where they'd lost track of an inmate, making it impossible for family and lawyers to meet. He did so while shamelessly using his own artificial, singular, gender-neutral pronoun (Perse/Per/Pers), of which he's advocated for and written about at great lengths. ...and that was the end of it. I've never interacted with Stallman in any other way; no replies, mentions, tags, favourites, and not even an emoji react as far as I can recall. (not that our flashy emoji reacts are visible on a Mastodon instance anyway).

He comes out and blocks me on 22 July 2026 – almost a month and a half later! Did a single, non-conforming, witty and inoffensive reply (devoid of animosity, aggression or provocation) make him soil his fat Jewish nappy or what?

I thought wisdom came with age. In Stallman's case, he's lost it.

When a rocket leaves the atmosphere, the exhaust plume will expand out as the air pressure lowers towards vacuum. That's why vacuum optimized engine nozzles have bigger engine bells than sea level optimized engines.
