@Escoffier A sophist or nihilist needs no excuse but his will to do violence. Christianity thrived in large part because it was so pro-social, attempting to minimize violence between believers. It even toned down the abuse of unbelievers. Compare Roman retaliation against the jew revolts to the relatively mild exiles they faced in Christian Europe. This relatively civilized aspect of Christendom was also a weakness. (Rome's weakness was that of the ancient Sith Lords - a war of all against all within the ruling stratum, but that is a tale for another day)

So the jews latched onto the pacifistic elements and used their media to amplify them, engaging in culture distortion. While at the same time exploiting the conversion loophole to infiltrate the weakened churches.
