During the first years of airplane flight, aircraft had all kinds of whimsical shapes. But finally, airplanes and helicopters converged around a basic shape for both. A pair of wings and a tail structure, or a rotor with some method of counter-rotation.

The same thing is happening for fully reusable rockets. Already, the reusable 1st stages are all variants of Falcon 9, New Glenn, Stoke Nova, and Starship.

The final shape of reusable upper stages is yet to be determined.

Elon Musk manages to innovate because he got rich enough early enough to break any laws that stood in his way and then dare them to arrest him.
I’m reminded of a video I saw years ago… I wish I could find it

Someone was interviewing a guy setting up a booth at the Southern Baptist Convention
They essentially asked him to state why he was Baptist and he replied “I think we stick the closest to what’s in the New Testament“
The interviewer then asked about the increasing role of women in in leadership positions in the church
His face went ashen and he mumbled something to the effect of “I don’t feel comfortable talking about that” and walked off
@Escoffier I started listening to Academic Agent when he said culture was top-down not bottom-up. Quite so. People with power told everyone what to believe and they fell into line or they were destroyed. This includes priests and bishops who tried to stick to the actual teachings of their own church - betrayed by Rome, naturally, and transferred to the provinces or even booted out.

Case in point: Father Coughlin.
@Escoffier Asking a pastor about women preaching is like asking a biologist about race. 'Oh shit, they're onto me!'

I finished reading Why Men Hate Going to Church
It was full of useful and accurate information
However it was a mountain of fail on two points:
1) when addressing the topic of women pastors instead of rebuking them with 1Timothy 2 he instead implored them to be more considerate of the needs of the men in their flock
2) Near the end of the book he held up an example of a church that really gets it and takes care of its men… and the church is pastored by… a woman

My disappointment is immeasurable
@jb People who think they need to rewind the culture to 1950.

More like 1050, dudes.
@anheim_secundus Default is illegal, but then so is most immigration.

Laws matter not to those with swords.
@judgedread Had several conversations with with boomers (both by age and by mindset) who just couldn't wrap his head around the concept of a nation just saying fuck it and defaulting. They always go back to "well SOMEONE has to pay it." I can only find so many ways to explain to them that you tell the banks and lenders to fuck off. They write it off. What else are they going to do, repossess your aircraft carriers?
No one cares, Elon. The solution to massive sovereign debt is the same as it ever was - default.
The fact of top-down culture engineering does beg the question:

Why don't the jews simply issue the surrender command and take over immediately?

Because there are limits. Much like the mythology around hypnosis, there's only so far you can push someone against their interests. No amount of advertising could foist the Arch Deluxe, New Coke or The Marvels onto the public, and the same goes for short term race suicide.

At best they can chip away at the fertility rate, working towards final victory in 2050 or so.
Team A is basically a gigantic failed marketing campaign.

“Elon was the big advocate of using only human senses for self driving cars. Humans drive based on sight and hearing, we have no LIDAR, so a machine should be able to do the same.”

“It worked.”

Just the right tech to build a combat Optimus droid army, cheap killer AI drone swarms, and killer 7m Starlink buses with rods-from-god.

A good test for this, is to make Tesla Robotaxi AIs learn how to evade danger, if antifa ordered a Robotaxi ride. And to deal with human misbehavior in the most efficient manner (instead of waiting before deliberate jaywalkers for hours).

A Starship booster going transonic as it starts its landing burn. The landing burn starts with the 3 center engines and the inner ring engines, then goes down to 3 engines to hover towards its launch tower.
