Israel's position was never viable against a modern foe. Iran finally caught up with them.

The deep state realist policy requires a black letter end to the Greater Israel Project and a stretch goal of a two state solution. It means Israel never becomes a major power. Not in ten years, not in a century.

The practical argument is that jews can either take half a state or no state at all, because Iran can destroy them right now, and it will only get easier as technology improves. So coming to a negotiated settlement is the only option where Israel survives in any form.

Not understanding the jewish problem means you don't understand that this is a life and death struggle against a peer rival.

IMO, taking out gulf state infrastructure in a retaliatory move will be blamed on the US, not Iran, by most of the world.
