I maintain that Christianity is going to vanish from the West, becoming another condiment in the great culture salad bar, no better or worse than hinduism, scientology or esperanto.

There is a cosmic gulf between what young guys think Christian hegemony was like and what actually growing up in it was like.

Dreary, bleak, joyless, anhedonic, mundane, boring, mind killing, those are the adjectives I associate with church and the Bible.

Those were our Sundays growing up. I know exactly what that felt like. It was a form of hell. And all the churches were like that at the time. Today Protestant churches are either for therapy or entertainment. Still hell.

I suspect it was a lot less obvious in societies without mass communications. If internet discourse is indicative, I would say that allowing jews to put anything in writing that can then be seen by an outsider is the most dangerous information being shared.
