@thefinn There's a sociological theory that you need to overcorrect to get any results. Want no more than a 10% illegitimacy rate? You need the most severe puritanical sexual regulation, with savage punishments for defectors (think stakes, racks, drawing and quartering).

But for the individual it makes no sense. There is a lot of ruin in a person. Elon Musk's endless fornication hasn't done him any harm, in fact from an evolutionary perspective it has increased his domination of the light cone.

If prosperity makes people evil and poverty makes people evil maybe your problem is with people and you should accept things you cannot change.
