@EscapeVelo I was never an "idealistic liberal marching for civil rights", but what he describes can be largely applied to me and a hell of a lot of other people. You grow up with the MLK dream being your default setting, then over the course of decades real life slowly beats that out of you. Eventually you reject all the old nonsense and come to realize that, yes, Segregation and Apartheid and all that other stuff existed for a logical reason and not because there was a group of white people who became evil and racist out of nowhere..

It's a bitter pill to swallow, but you get more comfortable with it as time goes on. The fact that this former civil rights marching liberal has made the same transformation gives me hope. Things are changing. I never thought they would. I might not live to see the transformation back to some kind of sanity on the issue, but my nephews most likely will. That gives me hope.

Nova is a fully reusable orbital rocket being designed for 3 metric tons to LEO. The upper stage uses a regeneratively cooled heat shield at the base, that uses some of the liquid hydrogen propellant to cool it.

This hydrolox upper stage has dozens of combustion chambers arranged as a ring around the shield, where the shield also acts as an aerospike.
