The incorrigable normie does not want society completely overturned. Ending the breaking of children's minds would lead to massive disruption. Millions would never be willing to work full time jobs. The union would dissolve even sooner than it's going to. Men would revert to an honor based morality. Violence would increase - in a good way.

So why do most people oppose bribing kids to do their schoolwork even though it works extremely well, incentivizing the kids to learn and retain the subject matter?

Because subconsciously people not only know what mandatory education is for, they APPROVE.

So, you may ask, what is mandatory education for? Not getting you up to speed on math, science, history, reading and writing.

Mandatory education is for breaking your will.

If they bribe you you're not broken, you're making a deal.

The conservative impulse to inculcate selfless loyalty to society helps whoever is in power.

Digging into the AI aided school discussed on the last Moonshots I ran into an interesting poll result. Alpha School brags about all of its novel features but one: They incentivize their students the old fashioned way - bribery. If you exceed a fairly high threshold you get school scrip which can be used in the company store to buy candy bars and such. All studies on this tactic prove it works... however...

About 76% of Americans oppose bribing young students to do schoolwork, a policy that would cost almost nothing (the rich kids at $35,000 a year tuition Alpha School are incentivized at a cost of about 20 cents an hour).

So why oppose it?

I got theories.
