@Escoffier The Christian churches collapsed slowly then all at once. The revolution in communications started by the printing press first divided the churches, then the compromise to survive division weakened their defenses against enemy systems. Each new revolution in communication technology not only drifted further out of Christian control, it also generated a new culture that - even without malice towards tradition - was completely alien to the nomadic, pastoral and agrarian cultures that spawned not just Christianity but all other ancient religions.
Video killed the revival star.
