Reading the specs I gotta say Nimitz class carriers are very thinly armed. Obviously the destroyers and aircraft are supposed to provide the lion's share, but I wouldn't want to be on that floating anvil right now.
'They haven't surrendered? Didn't the Ayatollah see Maverick?'
@brokenshakles I got my info from The Day the Universe Changed, which noted that the need for accurate navigation and precision artillery forced all sides to give in to the scientific world picture.
@judgedread It's rather difficult to arm an Aircraft carrier with anything other than it's aircraft, considering it's need for the Flat Top. The Nimitz class took this to it's logical conclusion, and just specialized in aircraft entirely.

This worked fine in a world without hypersonic missiles, in the same way dreadnoughts worked fine in a world without aircraft carriers.
...or cavalry worked in a world without automatic weapons.
How jews can save themselves:

Give up being jews, assimilate. What 20-25% or more do with each generation. Go and do likewise.

Otherwise it's the camps.
@DC5FAN That’s the weakness of these giant nuclear carriers. If you can sneak up on them and damage their ability to launch and recover aircraft, they just become slow floating hangars loaded with expensive and vulnerable toys they can’t use.
IRGC is saying they rendered the USS Abraham Lincoln inoperable when they hit it tonight. It was a drone and missile attack launched from small fast ships. My guess is they targeted the catapult specifically or damaged the deck so badly that planes couldn’t be launched or landed on it.
@admin So much for US carriers being immune to anything short of a hypersonic missile. I had to endure a gaggle of RL war nerds insisting that carrier group defenses were impossible to breach not three months ago.

Host:

“Why are the US bases in Gulf countries getting targeted while there’s an existence of US Military assets at sea, that do not get the same strikes?”

Iranian representative:

“So, you’re showing us the targets that we should attack?”

Host:

“No no that’s not what I…”

War lovers promote a lot of nonsense, but above all they adore the broken window fallacy. War stimulates the economy! No. War destroys things. The money spent on destroying their stuff or rebuilding our stuff they destroyed is taken away from the productive economy permanantly.

The American people understand this at a gut level, as seen during the Iraq fiasco where the longer it dragged on the less popular it became.

This even happened during World War Jew, despite a full court jew press.
Mmmmm, yes, amphibious landings and assaults are traditionally known for their very low casualty rates :verywise:

Booster 19 interstage section. The integrated hot staging section is the entire interstage. The 3 grid fins actually go inside the methane tank within pressure boundary compartments.

TBH by the time I understood Israel's role in the Iraq wars I knew they were doomed.
