Thoughts
I officially started a new job, listening to NPR news all day irritated the fuck out of me. (Co-worker’s choice not mine) Constant Propaganda.
Turn it into a joke in your own mind but do not say it out loud in a way that they view as disrespectful
I used to enjoy NPR news. It is either obvious nonsense or they make a good point. It is not very subtle.
Unless you can not concentrate. If you can not concentrate simply say that you can not concentrate when anything is played on the radio, if you make it about NPR specifically and not about everything then it will be harder to prove your point.
If they are in a cult and you criticize there NPR cult group then you can get in big trouble
Also the stuff that is wrong is so obviously wrong that it should not fool you into joining the cult if you are informed enough and have a proper perspective.
Cults work by creating fear of information that means they will try to eliminate you as a source of information if you disagree with NPR.
If you are not afraid of information they can not brainwash you long term.
If you already are willing to listen to information that disagrees with NPR tben they can not brainwash you long tertm because you will eventually find information to convince you NPR is wrong somewhere else
But the co worker will continue to be brainwashed as long as they are afraid to listen to information that disagreees with NPR
And suggesting they listen to another perspective can get you in trouble
So you could embrace listening to propaganda you disagree with and know you can debunk it and know more confidently that you are not brainwashed because you are willing to listen to something you disagree with
You can imagine as though you are visiting a cult and researching a deranged religion every time you listen
And pay extra attention to anything they say on NPR that suggests that listening to altertnative viewpoints to NPR is bad so you can knos how cults work better
