Trivia night at the roadhouse tonight. We're right on the edge of the Thumb, Michigan's massive farmland. Ran into a neighbor, who offered me the use of his tractor last summer, but I just didn't get around to it.

Begin the White Man Negotiations and Barter:

"Hey you never did come get the tractor. I can bring it by."
"Was busy, lost 21 chickens, had to reinforce the coop."
"Oh. Got eggs? Hey I have a bunch of venison. Want some?"
"Yeah I got eggs. We'd love some venison! I have tallow."
"Well shit I could really use some tallow. Hey we have a new smoker!"
"I can hook you up on tallow. A smoker, huh? I just dropped two apple trees. I've got a full facecord of applewood... Hey I'll bring you a bottle of mead."
"Oh wow I love mead. We have some venison kielbasa too. We'll come by this weekend."
"Sweet, man. Sounds good! I could really use the tractor when the weather breaks."
"Done. See you this weekend."
