Thomas Davidson, was a Scottish Christian philosopher who studied Thomas Aquinas, poet Alighieri Dante, philosopher Giordano Bruno and priest Antonio Rosmini. The Socialists in his "New Life" movement rejected Davidson because he believed in Volunteerism. Those who left his movement started the Fabian Society.
