Edited - got a fact wrong. Here's an update on Ralph Yarl. Ralph Yarl didn't just ring the doorbell of an 80 year old man, he was pulling on the door of the house and the home owner was afraid he was trying to break in. He ignored the security cameras, the no solicitor signs, the lights turned off, and the fact that the house looks completely different.
They're planning on charging the homeowner with 30 to life. If you have to defend yourself with a gun say nothing to the perp and mag dump into them.
