I made an ice cream cone and put ice cream everygoddamnwhere in my 'stach

Urrgh
@Elfie right now? A beard and mustache, yes

I usually only shave with a clipper because of skin problems making a full shave simply not worth it
@coolboymew @Elfie straight razor?
I got skin problems too, but using one blade rather than the popular 3 blade technology seems to be better for my skin. You could have similar problem maybe.
@Hyperhidrosis @Elfie The 3 blades yes. There's a better way? Also I'm never able to somehow do a very clean shave, there's always a 5 o'clock shadow when I'm done

But either way, I kinda don't want to spend 20 mins doing this shit properly only to have 1 week of skin issues, it's kinda not worth it lmao
@coolboymew @Elfie 3 blades is psyop there’s no need for 3 blades to scrape at your skin to remove 1 hair. Using a single sharp blade is enough to remove the hair. Also shaving against the grain of the hair is much easier to get it all in one go.

And using a lot of face cream is also based. Lube up your face after washing with warm water then begin the process.

Usually only do this for special occasions. Otherwise I just use electric shaver.
@Hyperhidrosis @Elfie 3 blades shit are annoying because stuff gets stuck under the blades often

Otherwise, yeah, I do use a lot of cream, go against the grain and and I have a technique for moustache hair

But yeah, electric shaver is faster, but it never seem to do the complete job for me. I just use a clipper as a look better with stubble anyways

@coolboymew @Hyperhidrosis @Elfie Just get the safety razor. 5 cents a blade and a fresh one does way, WAY better than anything else. If you have a screw-down handle like this you can actually change the level of tension bending the blade, altering its angle of attack. Want it softer and less aggressive? Tighten it up. Wanna get rid of stubble? dial the collar back a bit and watch it disappear.

And yeah, the lathering takes longer. I know a dude who just straight up shaves under the water in the shower, somehow doesn’t break out in rashes. Said the trick is just having a sharp blade, so he changes it out about 2-3x per week. Without all the later it takes all of 2 minutes or so. The cost to performance ratio is just unbeatable.

@WashedOutGundamPilot @Elfie @coolboymew @Hyperhidrosis I use a safety razor in the shower. I use a brush and shave soap set and a fog-proof mirror. Be prepared to cut the shit out of your face until you get the hang of it though.

@Tfmonkey @Elfie @coolboymew @Hyperhidrosis That’s why I’m talking about the collar tension. I think it’s part of the design, but nobody ever pays attention to it. When I’ve loaned mine out to people they complain about it - only for you to feel that the blade is presented almost horizontal. The more you crank it down, the more it angles into the curve of the head, and the less apt to cut you it is.

The older vintage gilletes don’t have any of that though, that’s why they tend to be a little softer, but leave a bit o’ stubble

@WashedOutGundamPilot @Elfie @coolboymew @Hyperhidrosis Mine uses a butterfly mechanism like the one you posted. I never tried intentionally loosening it. The brand I use is called Viking Revolution. I'm not sure how it compares to a vintage gillete.

@WashedOutGundamPilot @Tfmonkey @Elfie @coolboymew @Hyperhidrosis My safety razor doesn't go 'soft' enough. I might need to mess with it and see if something is gumming it up. All I ever do is use a fresh blade and take it all the way to as tight as possible then loosen it a quarter turn and I can get a great shave. I almost always get at least a nick though because it's a pain in the ass around the nose. I'm still liking my one blade, but maybe I'll pick up something better than drugstore branded safety blades.
@BowsacNoodle @Tfmonkey @Elfie @WashedOutGundamPilot @Hyperhidrosis Around the nose and the mouth are just the worst, I always end up forgetting some spots there
@coolboymew @Tfmonkey @Elfie @WashedOutGundamPilot @Hyperhidrosis There's nothing worse than a baby smooth shave with like five quarter inch long hair stuck together like an eye sore.
