@Nudhul @lain @[email protected] the reason we use plastic is because an barrel of oil can only produce so much gasoline, diesel, etc. Plastic is a byproduct that we found a use for, but since we use oil for other things, it doesn't make sense to NOT use plastic.
this is also why Asphalt is made of oil byproducts as well. It's basically a form of recycling.

We could fill in empty oil wells with plastic waste, so in a way we'd be restoring the natural balance.
@Tfmonkey @bloggerski @lain @[email protected] @Nudhul. Singapore burns their plastic waste, and uses the heat from this Burnt trash to generate electricity.
They have technology that captures these toxic fumes before they are released into the atmosphere. I believe switzerland does this as well
