Include evolutionary biology and sociology - how our bodies affect our behaviour and drives and give rise to M/F sexual dynamics, which then shape societies, which give rise to culture, which in turn develop into philosophical and political systems. And start from pre-history.

Once kids have this, they can now reason about how shit democracy is.
