Has has plans to add monetized video content. Paired with their twitter streaming offering, the possible advertising touch points make Twitter the only platform that could seriously compete with YouTube. Not even Rumble can.

That is a wild prediction but hey, as TFM says, we'll find out together.

My prediction is the exact opposite. Yes, the Cathedral will do anything to destroy it rather than let it live, but if Elon's fancy footwork can keep up then he can easily turn Twitter into a YouTube-killer.

Getting Trump back on would bring that battle to a head.

As for Truth-Social, now that Elon is Twitter head, integrations and bridge software can be easily built to synchronize.

His reach with Twitter cannot be beat. Going into 2024 without Twitter would be madness. If he plays it right, he'll be a little bit coy and end up on some kind of deal that leverages both platforms simultaneously.

It was done for several reasons.
1. To drive up engagement.
2. As a honeypot to study bot manipulation in real-time.
3. As a means of providing plausible deniability for being sole decision maker.
4. For the massive lolz.

He was going to do it anyway, which is why he had Twitter locked down this weekend to avoid sabotage.
