If the stars are farther away then the moon and the moon is a solid opaque object then how come people can see stars where the moon would be when the moon is not a full moon
If they are satellites in front of the moon then how come people used to paint or draw pictures of the moon with stars in those locations before satellites?

@shortstories The moon doesnt have it own light source it comes from the Sun.
While stars are other Suns but like You mention very far away
