TFM was stating that the Roman's had crisp clean water from the mountains via the aqueduct. The water has been shown not be be clean but it was polluted with lead that poisoned the people.

@CheshireHuman - I've heard that lead tastes sweet. And I've also heard that for this reason, before new world sugar-cane was a thing, wealthy Romans would top culinary dishes with finely grated lead in order to sweeten them.

When considering that lead is a neurotoxin that leads to various forms of psychosis... 🤔 It would explain a lot about mad emperors. 🤦🏻‍♂️
