Something I realized about separating responsibility from authority is that it creates an endless cycle of apathy and degradation.

If you have responsibility for something but no authority and a problem happens, you just want to the problem to go away as fast as possible. But since you have no authority there’s nothing you can do to prevent other problems from happening.

So you just become apathetic and lazy & you just want to “make it to Friday” endlessly. And that’s why nothing gets better.

Don't forget the other side, the people who have the authority but delegate the responsibility become entitled tyrants that demand worse and worse every time.
