IMO, it makes much more sense if you see women as a commodity (a resource, part of men's wealth).

Men, by letting the propaganda of the enemy run free and growing weak, not protecting their wealth, they lose their commodity and let their resources be wasted. She was a 17 year old white woman, prime age to produce many new white babies. Gone.
