@Zeb It's difficult to say how much contact he had with Romans but he did heal the centurion's servant, who was a Roman. He called for obedience to the Roman government (give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and stoning of the adulteress), and Pilate didn't want him judged so this "Jesus was a jewish freedom-fighter" angle some peddle is rubbish.
