That makes so much more sense than just the avian flu, there are regions that were only lightly hit by avian flu. For example you could keep an eye out for the price development in Mexico to isolate the flu from other factors.

You should check a guide on filters. You can apply as much or as little of control over the content you receive.
Or you could block biggest offenders using a pre-compiled list. Surely there exists a puritan with too much free time in some group you feel has a reasonable standard for censorship.

Also the longer the idea of disinflation stands all parties are hesitant to be the first to raise prices overtly.
There is a lesser but still none the less real delay in retail and producer prices no inflation model accounts for. Like multiple springs being squeezed by sheer expectations it can only compress so much on the hopes of peak inflation and return to normalcy.
