It is a brutal proceedure. If it makes it so an overly destructive cat can have a good home, I'm all for it though. The other reason is some cats will not allow nails to be clipped. You would literally have to sedate them every time. If nails don't get cut, they become ingrown. 🤷‍♂️ I would say 99% don't need to be de clawed though.
