The Dems have never liked the Christians as far as I can remember. Being a Christian myself, I've felt the wrath of a few back when I was on FB and had my faith listed (stupid mistake).

So I don't think that they ever had the Christian block of voters.

Christianity makes the connection that freedom goes hand in hand with responsibility, DemonRats don't like responsibility, hence championing welfare, abortion, etc.
