While my reading of history would come to the same conclusion, just in my short 65 years on this planet, I've seen government do nothing but expand and become ever more tyrannical. When I was young, we could set off pretty much any fireworks we wanted, then they banned explosives, any firecracker bigger than a lady finger, then those, then everything except sparklers, then sparklers, now celebrating our freedom on Independence day is not only illegal it's nonsensical. When I was a child, minors weren't banned from places that served alcohol, they weren't allowed to be served alcohol, but they weren't banned from those places, which meant, as a kid if I wanted to go into a bar that also sold good cheeseburgers, I could go in and have a cheeseburger. When I was a kid the in city freeway speed was 70MPH, outside but still in relatively populated areas, 75, and when you got further out than that 80, now it's 60 at best. When I was a kid all the beaches were open 24x7 and I used to love going down and walking the beach at night and looking at the stars, now with the exception of Long Beach, about a 180 mile drive, all are closed at night. Same for parks. The only place I can go now if I want to view the stars is up old logging roads where the cops generally don't venture. I might get eaten by a bear but I'd rather a bear than a cop. The bears at least aren't sadistic and egotistical, they are merely hungry. So yea while I long for a return to sanity and freedom, save for the potential for a civil war, and if the DemonRats cheat on this election the way they did on the last, I can see it happening, I see no potential for a return to freedom in my lifetime.
