Tariffs are simply taxes. Conservatives once united against new taxes. Taxing trade will mean less trade and higher prices.
Yes, it will- but it will also increase the US economy by encouraging corporations to return rather than continuing to use Chinese slave labor. Higher prices don't matter if you are earning a high wage in American factories.
