Americans want to have a civil war over homosexuals, abortion, and illegal immigrants, but no one cares that the USA is a bankrupt warmongering police state.
Well, I do- but no one wants to listen to Libertarians. The first things you mention are just wedge issues the "government" has no intention of ever actually fixing because they're more valuable as a divide and conquer strategy.
