Punished by what for doing what? Not believing someone else's fairytale? No one is going punish me and I won't even know anyway because I'll be dead and I dare say I think I'm a lot more "moral" that the religious hypocrites I see all around that don't even live up to the purported high standards they imply they do.

And an atheist acting morally does so for morality's sake without fear of punishment.

@freepatriot christians can be immoral because god understands and forgives you.
you also have a book of contradictory teachings in which you can pick whichever one you prefer in that instance to be scummy while technically not exceeding what is written. especially if you're not a marcionite.
