It is hard to make sense of – to believe – that the “deal” supposedly reached between the United States and Iran means the war’s over. It probably means the war is on pause, again.
There is no “the war is over”. Neither the Iranians or the Israelis want it to end; it’s only Trump and the other potential collateral damage (UAE, Quatar, Saudi Arabia, etc) that want it over - Trump for the optics, the rest because they’re scared of what an out of control Iran or Israel might do.
Iran will never agree to give up pursuit of nukes; Trump will never go full scale destruction - if he was, he’d have done it by now - he’s too worried about how it would look.
