Like Lyndon Johnson from 1965-1968 Trump has taken the nation into the quicksand of a foreign war he has no viable strategy for winning.

He has relearned the painful lesson our nation should have learned in Vietnam, that aerial bombing alone will not defeat a determined opponent. It is noteworthy the president has not shared with Congress, or the American people, a plan for winning this war now that the bombing campaign has proven ineffective.

The president owes the American people answers.

The late, great Sun Tzu said that a vessel must be both simultaneously full and empty. Trump's strategic mind is like that vessel
It's absolutely fucking brilliant! Or retarded. I'm not sure which.
@freepatriot the only lesson learned from Vietnam was this one: the endless quagmire was nearly won but then the media stole defeat from the jaws of victory, by giving the public the false impression that the war was an endless quagmire.

This is the only lesson compatible with the belief (loved by propagandists) that propaganda is a superpower that can win wars. The propaganda just wasn't with us yet.

@apropos @freepatriot

The lesson is the People don't want foreign entanglements nor do they want to spread democracy.
