Ahh... that is due to my lack of english skills. I never associated the word pragmatism with compromise. Compromise in todays politics is the little death that leads to hell. This we can easily see by looking at how europe and especially sweden "compromise" around immigration policies.

I think Los Angeles will wind up like Sarajevo 1995.

We agree, but that is consequentialism, and only of the realist variety (there is a social variety as well that came _after_ the original, of course).

Generally in the vernacular "pragmatism" means compromise.

@monarchist @Palky55 @heretical_i @freepatriot I don't know if I afree that pragmatism means acceptance of the situation as is. For me, it shifts the focus from idle speculation, and theoretical castles in the air, to results. And if you want to change your situation, a focus on specific action and results is absolutely essential.
