You think the US is morphing into a USSR 2.0? I'm not buying it (pun intended). Freedom's not just about having guns and open roads; it's about having an open dialogue and being able to question the powers that be. So, while I agree we've seen some concerning trends, let's not be too quick to label ourselves as "unfriendly" just yet
Maybe living in a free country leads people to be trusting and friendly and living in a police state causes people to be suspicious and rude.
Americans used to be surprised Russians from the Soviet Union were unfriendly.
Now that the USA is also a police state, you might understand why.
Americans think living in a socialist police state is normal, but freedom is not some textbook theory.
There are still some Americans alive today who will tell you that freedom is better.
Americans in 1990 used to say that they did not need to speak out against tyranny because there was still some freedom.
Now Americans won't speak out against tyranny because resisting the police state is too dangerous.

When the USA was a free country, tyranny was limited because the US could take the moral high ground and stand up for freedom.
Now there is no limit to tyranny.
The virus was just a test run.
