You might want to call your mom, but why bother if you are being wiretapped?

You might want to go outside, but why bother if there are surveillance cameras everywhere?

The only ones who used to be fingerprinted were inmates. Now everyone is a criminal and everybody is fingerprinted.

Americans used to hate Communists. Now Americans have become Communists.

Americans don't care if the USA is a police state, but Americans lose their minds if North Korea has tyranny.

Americans say living in a bankrupt warmongering police state is not their problem.

doomed when Americans
would rather attack those who defend freedom instead of criticizing the government that is enslaving them.

wow. i never thought about it that way.
you should build a pipe bomb.
@freepatriot To be honest I've learned to look at the silver lining here.

For every citizen a cop harasses, tickets or arrests over nonsense, he increases the chance of meeting the one criminal he's supposed to put in jail while decreasing any chance of actually being ready for it. If he's lucky, the criminal will make a good cop out of him within less then a minute.

And before anyone says it. That's not me being ghoulish or morbid. That's how the police and the state they work for operates. They're as aware of the problem as we are but so long as they continue to profit they have no intention of changing anything.

@freepatriot and they are now only 10 years from requesting bids for a new bridge to replace it.

@freepatriot Sadly, I am pretty aware of their surveillance capabilities. Although this pervasive capture is entirely unconstitutional, it seems hopeless at present to have any politicians address it.

I think, in practice, unless they are specifically paying attention to you for some reason -- and it seems NSA only does this for actual security threats -- they seem to ignore most stuff and not share it with law enforcement. I think this is mostly a matter of information overload.

At the same time it is frustrating when you know they have such capabilities, and they did jack shit to stop many serious attacks. BTW, they had a lot of this in place well before the Patriot Act.

I am concerned that in the future this stuff will be used though to "decide" that people who have never committed crimes are "dangerous."

Everything is illegal, everyone is a criminal, everyone is under surveillance 24/7, and no one cares.

Living in a police state means that you must live in dread of being arrested. You can't help feeling hopeless.
