This is also one of the reasons I have an extremely strong stance against metric.

It's sold as "scientific" but is anything but.

@sickburnbro Trying to time and dates in units of 10 is utterly retarded when you consider the fact that the number of days in a year will never conform to a unit of 10 (365.25 days in a year, making leap years necessary). Base 10 is not inherently superior to other systems. Hell, we could teach everyone to do math in base 8 and it would work fine. So 10 is more arbitrary than we think (10 fingers is probably the reason for base 10). We are just very used to the decimal system.

@sickburnbro Also, the metric system is also quite arbitrary when you look at the history of how the length meter was determined. And it has a real autistic fixation on water for a large portion of its units.

@houseoftolstoy yes, that's the thing - it wants to be "scientific" but the problem is the rationale for choosing water can easily be repurposed to attack choosing water anyway.
@houseoftolstoy also I'm a fan of base 12. You can actually count to 12 with one hand, if you use finger bones for each number, and the thumb as the position.
