An absorption refrigerator uses a sealed loop with any moving parts. A flame heats a generator, releasing acetylene gas that flows into the evaporator. There, it lowers pressure, forcing liquid sulphur dioxide to evaporate, absorbing heat to cool the fridge. The gas mixture then separates as acetone absorbs the acetylene back to the generator, while sulphur dioxide condenses and repeats the cycle. This silent design still powers modern RVs and mini-fridges.
