I went back to Bioshock 2 and it's kind of amazing how much i hate Sofia Lamb compared to Andrew Ryan (an idealistic man that when reality crushes his ideals he becomes a tyrant) and Frank Fontaine (a disgusting crook that bred you as an automaton and discarded you when you stopped being useful). Plus, initially they paint Sinclair as a pure scumbag through his diaries but he ends up being the character i love the most in the game.
In a sense, when some villains get a glimmer of humanity or some sort of redemption (like Vader did) they go a long way. And also, when villains are unabashedly evil with no justification, they are pretty cool
