@sardonicsmile I have a distant relative who worked on an offshore platform of this kind. He lost a few fingers in an accident, got too close from machinery. The surgeon on board could not properly treat it, so he had to find a solution to keep the injury safe while help would be on the way to bring it to a proper hospital. Apparently the procedure for this was to open his belly, shove the damaged hand, and zip everything tight so the hand is kept in a sterile and warm environment. Crazy story.
