I’m leaving.

If you’re looking to join the fediverse, word of advice: don’t.

It’s just as bad as any form of ‘normie’ social media except you can call people “niggerfaggots” or some variant and not get banned.

I find fedi a time wasting black hole, to put it quite simply. And my life goals have changed significantly over the past few months alone. I do not have any plans to kill the domain, Breastmilk.club will still be here.

Administration will change slightly, with @Leyonhjelm taking over my role currently. I need at least a few months, maybe longer. I will still be paying all the server costs at least through domain renewal in January. I’m still deciding if I want to keep the domain or transfer it.

I, personally, don’t want it to be permanent but for some of my favorite people on here, it is. We lost multiple instances when the poa.st leak happened and while this isn’t a motivating factor for me, it did open my eyes seeing some of my favorite posters on here leave. It got me thinking about why I’m still on here when I’ve been considering leaving since at least September 2022, with breastmilk.club being a last-ditch effort to try and make it fun again.

The fediverse was fun once, and then just stagnated into a constant circle of pedojacketing, degeneracy, narcissism, victim-blaming, and sidestepping to present a different narrative consistently.

Doesn’t help that many of the users on the fediverse are genuinely insufferable and that number is growing by the day.

It’s sad to see anyone or anything go. It’s even more sad when the reasons why someone goes completely make sense. It’s awful that it had to end like this, but it was going to happen sooner or later.

I closed registrations on breastmilk.club on June 26, 2023 and made them invite only as for the most part, i do not see anything improving for the long term. We’ll re-evaluate in the near future. If I’m giving up the domain, I’ve already worked on plans for that. Frankly, this domain holds bad memories for me for multiple reasons.
