@MrpoopyButhole they use "gaijin" as an pejorative.
I have never encountered it, though.
They are nice and helpful if you are lost ahd they hear you have an American accent.

@UncleIroh Indeed. I understand he had a low IQ level of what was thought of as discipline leveled against him, growing up. Perhaps, parents can detect "weak mindedness" or malleability in a child and targeted him as the one they can exert authority over, without resistance. Fortunately, He overcame this. His resilience can be learned from.
