@Turkleton @AlbinoMutant @shortstories When i was surveying lost collectivised fields on the romanian countryside for rich people 14 years ago, the old people of the village i worked and sometimes stayed in (only old people and like below age 18 live in those villages, the working age people work in the cities and stay there and only go home weekends) would sit after sun down at every entry point to the village (was just 2) and take turns at gypsy watch.
They said, i paraphrase, Gypsies will steal your shit and animals, to steal your shit they will poison your guard dogs, and they abduct children and sell them to pedos, or throw them before cars to extort the drivers.
They were always armed with hunting rifles, and when i asked them what would happen if they shot one, they said, police would come and pick up the corpse, no further questions asked.
I didn't experience anything like that while i was there so no idea if thats true, but i also don't think they sit there every night just for fun (though they use every excuse to drink, what they also did heavily while on watch)

The guy in the video is a city gypsie, but there are still gypsies living in horse buggies in the forrests or in objects that can hardly be called sheds, completely unregistered. Those "wild" gypsies are the ones who steal life stock and who are a problem in the villages. But there are a lot of gypsies who are basically organized crime and live in the 21st century. They have their hands in prostitution, Illegal Logging (which is a big problem), illegal mining and grave robbery and a lot of human trafficking including children and mentally disabled. So yeah Gypsies are a huge topic.

Where he lived it's normal for men to sleep late and wake early, and the man of the house will always keep a firearm near their bedroom door.

I saw wild Brown Bears. The quality of local produced Veggies, which you can buy directly from small scale side hustle vendors on the road side is far beyond anything what you can get at premium gorcery shops, and it will cost you only pennies.
And they have a couple of beautiful ladies there too, though not as many as in other eastern european countries.
