Libtards are preemptively beginning their performative histrionics at Dennis Villeneuve's adaptation of Dune Messiah because of the galactic genocide and Paul's glowing mention of Hitler in the book. They are likely beginning this spiral because they already know that after 8 years of calling 95% of the population a Nazi, having a character praise Hitler isn't the black mark on their character that it used to be.

I should also add that that conversation in Messiah didn't really hit as hard for me back when I read it, nothing to do with politics, just the idea that after 9,000 years a dictators actions and consequences would more than fade with time wasn't that crazy of an idea. Like how Napoleon was the Hitler figure of the 1800s and is now widely considered an anti-hero at worst and a great man of history by the majority of the population.

@Shadowman311 iirc didn't herbert intentionally flanderize paul in messiah because he didn't like how many people saw him as a role model?

Seems to fit perfectly with the hollywood narrative.
@Forgetful_Gynn The point of dune was to warn against charismatic leaders and cults of personality, Messiah was Herbert's attempt at a sharp course correction after sort of blowing that message in the first dune.
@Shadowman311 @Forgetful_Gynn "Beware of charismatic leaders!"

Why?

"Because they'll, uh... Liberate your planet and take you on a kickass jihad to rule the galaxy..."

@Godcast @Forgetful_Gynn @Shadowman311

There used to be a wikipedia article called Orange Catholic that explained it but the article has been removed

I thought I archived it but it looks like the truth has been surpressed

@Godcast @Forgetful_Gynn @Shadowman311

Supposedly Frank Herbert was making fun of religious people in a conversation with a relative of his who was talking with him about someone going to a confirmation class and both of them made fun of the whole thing together and then he decided to put stuff in Dune

There was supposedly a orange religious movement in Ireland, Britain, Scottland or England in real life

And the orange Catholic Bible is named after it as part of the mockery

@Godcast @Forgetful_Gynn @Shadowman311

I can not find any of the stuff I claimed supposedly happened in this religion mocking event

But I just remember hearing or reading it when trying to figure out what a "Orange Catholic" is

Maybe it was removed from the internet or maybe I am looking in the wrong place

@shortstories @Godcast @Forgetful_Gynn There's a reason why Tolkien hated dune, but not for the reasons shitlibs want, which is why when its brought up they strawman and misrepresent as much as possible.

If he hated Allegorys than Roman Catholicism was the wrong religion for him to pick
