So on Dos box you can change cycle speed to make it run slower for some games

Is there a modified version of dos box that can make it run faster than the normal maximum speed for dos

I am under the impression that dos would have a maximum speed no matter how good your hardware is because of some sort of software limitation

and cycles = max limits it to that speed

Is there a way to go beyond that speed because we have better hardware
