Do you know the reason for crossing your legs into the lotus position during meditation? It is so in order to cut blood circulation into your legs so that you would get "high" by getting more oxygen into your head. Quite retarded, but those Indians were never that smart to begin with.

1 If you try to do meditation or self hypnosis exercises and you are too comfortable you can fall asleep

2A It is better for your flexibility then doing the meditation or self flexibility in what is called easy pose.

2B The hip abductor muscles that connect to the IT band can be stretched through either externally or internally rotating the hip since on the muscle charts they either are listed as having an action of internally or externally rotating the hip plus hip abduction

I do not know about the claim involving oxygen but a lot of so called ancient Indian and Chinese medicine

1 is not good medicine

2 when it is good medicine a lot of the time they take something western and pretend it was a ancient Asian secret

3 Sometimes the ancient people understood proper medicine but some person does not understand what they originally meant because they used a lot of metaphors before more precise language was developed by western scientists

The story is that a lot of people would spend so much of their time staying still meditating that people developed exercises to prevent health problems from the meditation

Sitting prolonged in lotus is better for the health than sitting for prolonged time in regular sitting in what is called easy pose
