The only explanation I can think of as to why this would be is that in the ancient past they would infiltrate a village & use that village for slave labor
Eventually people in that village could find out escape & warn the other villages which would prevent them from infiltrating other villages
They did genocide in order to prevent survivors leaving to warn other people
@shortstories That is nice explanation but I think is simplier than that less cattle more resources and with tecnology you don't need a Big slave labor force
Your explanation would explain why they would still do that after the invention of the internet when someone could warn bout what they are doing from across the ocean almost instantaneously
