This story of female secret service agents breaking into a hair salon and using it for several hours for their own convenience is emblematic of America's decline: the decay of the institutions, the contempt for private property and the elevation of female vanity over individual rights and freedoms. The agents picked the lock, covered the cameras and then left the premises unlocked once they had finished youtube.com/watch?v=JyHf2idmgL

Actually this kind of stuff is not new and male secret service agents can do similar things

Read

the Spy and His Master

And CIA Family Jewels

CIA Family Jewels explains having to deal with this kind of scandals having happened where agents did illegal things for personal gain

The Spy and His Master warns about how this kind of thing can happen & how to consider the possibility based on their motivation when selecting agents

There is no type of motivaton that prevents problems

@SamHarris

My understanding of that book

People are motivated by ideology or selfishness

Someone motivated by ideology will be very loyal to the agency as long as it lines up with their ideology then go against the agency

Someone motivated by greed or selfishness will use their position to do things that lead to scandals like using their position to do illegal activity for personal gain

Either way they will not be loyal to following the agencies directives in a way that makes it look good

@shortstories I'll have to have a look at those. Sounds interesting. As I said, it's emblematic of our current era.

@SamHarris

It is actually

The Spy
And
His Masters
By Christopher Felix
Published 1963

not

the spy and his master

It is by the AFIO which might be the Association of Former Intelligence Officers

Here is a link to it

If it is in audiobook that might be better if you search around

archive.org/details/the-spy-an

@SamHarris

Here is CIA family Jewels from archive dot org you can also find it on multiple government websites

archive.org/details/CIAFamilyJ

The thing about it is there are a lot of blank pages and marked up censored pages and pages with very little text then there are some pages with lots of text in between

So I kind of skimmed it and looked for the pages that are full of text to read like in a normal book & then skimmed them I skipped a lot of pages I did not understand when I read it years ago
